Advertising guru John Farmer wakes to the cries of his newborn baby. But far from being next to his wife at home, he is back at university, some years previously. When he finally meets his future wife, he finds she is stronger than he could have imagined, possessing an essence of the ancient gods that others want to steal for their own gain.
